Job Description
Seton College, a two-year division of the University of Mount Saint Vincent, seeks a visionary and mission-driven leader to serve as its Dean. The Dean will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership to a college designed to serve students who have been historically underserved by traditional two-year and four-year institutions. The Dean will champion student success and academic excellence while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
Fundraising and Partnership Development:
+ Establish and cultivate Advisory Board for Seton College for the purpose of relationship and philanthropic development. With the support and partnership of the University Advancement Office and Office of Academic Affairs, foster relationships with external stakeholders for fundraising, program offerings, and student recruitment and development opportunities. Develop partnerships with companies to serve as intern and job providers for students and alumni. Actively promote the two-year college within the communities it serves.
Strategic Leadership:
+ Develop and implement a strategic vision for Seton College aligned with the University’s mission and values, with a focus on authentic inclusivity, access, affordability, and student success. Implement best practices for providing education to a highly culturally, linguistically, and religiously diverse student body.
Academic Oversight:
+ In partnership with the Associate Dean for Academics for Seton College, oversee the development, assessment, and continuous improvement of academic programs and cultivate an environment that supports holistic student development and success.
Student Success:
+ Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Student Success and Engagement to support holistic student development, retention, and graduation.
Budget and Operations:
+ In collaboration with the Associate Deans, manage the College’s budget and resources effectively and strategically. Work with University leadership to ensure operational excellence.
Assessment and Accreditation:
+ Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies. Lead data-informed decision-making and reporting.
Requirements
+ Doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field preferred.
+ Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education.
+ Experience with friend- and fundraising in the context of foundations and donor cultivation.
+ Experience with and/or understanding of enrollment and budget management in private higher education.
+ Demonstrated commitment to educational equity, student-centered learning, and inclusive excellence.
+ Experience with curriculum development, faculty/staff and student support services.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Benefits
The allotted salary for this position is $150,000.
