    Tradesperson - Building Maintenance

    Position Description:

    Safely performs journeyperson level tasks in the fabrication, construction, maintenance, alteration and repair of fixtures, equipment, structures, buildings, and built-in components for Texas Tech facilities. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Performs maintenance and repair of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing aspects of the assigned building, and surrounding buildings.

    + Resolve all work orders in your assigned building in a timely manner while maintaining records of materials and labor expended for each work order.

    + Repair and restore assigned building during summer tour, assist with other buildings as needed and assist with all summer projects.

    + Do a daily walk through of assigned building checking all systems including vandalism of buildings and overall examination on the integrity of the building.

    Proficiency in written and mathematical skills as may be reflected in the completion of high school or equivalent. Three years experience in designated trade or licensed journeyperson.
