Job Summary:
Manages psychological problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, and personality disorders of patients.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Acts as resource to other disciplines on patient problems related to depression, anxiety, stress, and behavior modification.
+ Assesses patient's psychological status and provides interventions/treatments such as relapse prevention for addictive behaviors, stress management and positive coping skills.
+ Collaborates with other professionals to provide appropriate psychological therapy for patient.
+ Participates in clinical rotation experiences and education seminars.
+ Participates in individual and group supervision.
+ Provides behavioral information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases and other forms of publications.
+ Provides psychological expertise and education to multidisciplinary team of professionals.
+ Provides psychological testing under supervision of neuropsychologist.
+ Refers patients to other disciplines for consult and evaluations as indicated.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
+ School letter documenting eligibility for predoctoral internship by academic program and participation in the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) internship match.
EXPERIENCE
+ Seven hundred supervised clinical hours
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Frequent reaching, sitting, standing and walking.
+ Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
+ Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
+ Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
+ Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, twisting and gripping.
+ Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
+ Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
+ Occasional driving.
+ Rare repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements and squatting.
