    Job Description:

    + Surveyors will intercept recreational boaters in pairs and administer a standardized questionnaire using electronic tablets (provided).

    + Surveys will be conducted at selected boat launch sites in Citrus County, Florida, with an estimated travel time of up to 1 hour and 40 minutes one-way from Gainesville. Applicants must be able to travel independently in their own vehicle to these off-campus locations.

    + Shift: Up to one day per week (flexible scheduling) with a 4-hour shift plus additional estimated travel time.

    + Compensation: $15 per hour (includes estimated travel time), with additional mileage reimbursement at University of Florida rate of $0.455/mile.

    + Contract Duration: Starting in May 2025 and continuing through April 2026. We will consider shorter appointments on a case-by-case basis.

    Expected Salary:

    $15.00 an hour

    Required Qualifications:

    Must be 18 years old or older.

     

    High school diploma or equivalent.

     

    Driver’s license

     

    Comfortable with independent travel to survey sites in Citrus County (up to 1 hour and 40 minutes commute from Gainesville).

     

    Ability to work at least 6 hours per week in an outdoor environment. Shifts will be canceled if conditions are dangerous, but surveyors will be working in a range of temperatures and weather conditions.

     

    Ability to work from 8 AM–12 PM, 11 AM–3 PM, or 2 PM–6 PM from Monday to Sunday.

    Preferred:

    Strong listening skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively.

     

    Strong communication skills

     

    Basic computer literacy.
