Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Programmer Analyst to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a range of applications and components, primarily utilizing C# on the .NET platform for application logic and Oracle with PL/SQL for data storage. Additionally, some applications are built using Java on the JVM. The role involves daily development tasks such as coding, testing, documentation, and peer review of various software components, including web applications, stored procedures, class libraries, and standalone applications, all managed through Git version control in a collaborative team environment with established processes.

The web technologies used include a mix of ASP.NET, Web API, and JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, KnockoutJS, and VueJS, as well as legacy PL/SQL-driven websites hosted on Oracle. Our team supports a wide range of data exchange with partner organizations, working with logistics-oriented data sets, data standards, and data processes, including images, barcodes, MILSTRIP, X12, and message queues.

and the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP)

Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Typical education and years of related/relvant professional work experience required: Bachelor s degree and at least two years related/relevant professional work experience or equivalent education and related/relevant work experience. Demontrated experience with .NET is preferred however will consider any other programming experience.

+ .NET / Visual Studio (2019 or later)

+ C# programming skills

+ Web development: HTML, JavaScript, CSS

+ SQL Editor(s) (Ex: SQL Developer, Toad, SQL Plus)

+ Oracle PL/SQL

+ Git / Azure DevOps

+ Basic Linux / Bash scripting

+ Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and MILSTRIP data formats

+ Java programming skills (including experience with Java IDEs such as NetBeans, Eclipse, or VSCode)

+ Message queue management: IBM MQ Series

+ SAP ERP systems (specific experience with [module/component])

+ Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders, including government representatives and internal teams

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $63662 - $108225

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
