About the role
Our Fort Worth, Texas location is part of our Dairy division and creates soups and sauce variations for Kerry customers and brands. We are a fast paced, never a dull moment manufacturing facility that comes together as a team to get the job done. The typical hiring range for this role is $35.00 to $37.00 per hour and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime. Key responsibilities
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic
SUMMARY:Installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment and support structures in the Packaging department. Performs regular changeovers of equipment and tooling to support the production schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Understands operation and capabilities of all packaging machinery.
+ Performs line changeovers by installing correct tooling and machine parts, adjusting settings, and making other needed arrangements, then running the newly set-up equipment with product until the line runs smoothly.
+ Makes necessary adjustments to the machinery during operation to ensure quality output. and line efficiency.
+ Listens for unusual sounds and visually inspects machines to detect malfunction. Works with machine operators and other maintenance workers to diagnose problems and repair the machines.
+ Conducts regular preventive maintenance by inspecting and lubricating machine parts and replacing or adjusting as necessary.
+ Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, cutter and drill to repair or fabricate machine parts.
+ Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
+ Helps train operators on correct run procedures, set ups and clean ups, operator adjustments, and general care of equipment and machinery.
Qualifications and skills
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:At least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of vocational education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and write technical instructions and read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. Ability to effectively explain information and respond to questions from fellow employees and outside support people.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American and metric weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical and mechanical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:Ability to be detailed oriented. Ability to help prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to maintain professional, positive attitude at all times. Ability to work effectively under pressure and stress
