    This is a professional position responsible for facilitating the collaborative work of multidisciplinary team (MDT) staffings. The position must be able to coordinate and facilitate staffings that may result in competing opinions and recommendations from team members that may include the Department, Community-Based Care Lead Agencies, Case Management organizations, parents, community service providers, and other persons involved in the life of the child for whom the MDT has been convened.

     

    Coordinate and facilitate multidisciplinary staffings in person or remotely and send notifications to all participants who are required to attend.

     

    Actively and professionally mediate disagreement during MDT staffings to ensure effective communication between participating individuals by using conflict resolution and collaborative problem solving to ensure that the child and family remain the primary focus of each MDT staffing;

     

    Assist participants in using the strengths within the family when determining and establishing goals for the child; confirm best interest factors and specific information related to a child 3 years of age or younger are considered during the multidisciplinary staffing pursuant to s. 39.4022, F.S.

     

    Provide notification to the courts through Children’s Legal Services and DCF Regional staff within 48 hours after the conclusion of the staffing when a unanimous consensus could not be reached and prepares written reports, within 5 business days, for the courts outlining the outcome of being unable to reach consensus.

     

    Develop written reports for the courts that outline the overall decisions of the multidisciplinary staffings and the feedback of each individual participant.

     

    Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with organizations and other agencies involved with child welfare such as community-based care providers, Children’s Legal Services, Guardian ad Litem, schools, clinical professionals, and other community agency resources.

     

    Maintain an organized tracking system to account for multidisciplinary staffings and confirms participation of required attendees.; Documents the outcome of multidisciplinary staffings in the Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) System.

     

    Review Florida Statutes, DCF Operational Procedures, Administrative Rule and policies. Ensure participants are aware of confidentiality and HIPAA, and identifies potential problems related to case specifics.

     

    Paticipate in ongoing cross-program training, team meetings, and planning.

    Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:Knowledge in Florida's Practice

     

    Model and Florida’s official electronic system of record, Florida Safe Family Network (FSFN). Experience in Microsoft Office, minimum

     

    of three years of Child Welfare experience, excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills relative to diverse

     

    populations in academic, public health, and community settings. One year of case management experience. Excellent skills in public speaking, facilitation, and collaborative

     

    problem-solving. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines. Analytical, decision making, and

     

    organizational skills.

    Licensure/registration/certification requirements (If applicable, list the appropriate Florida Statute or federal regulation cite):

    Florida Child Welfare Certification

     

    Other job-related requirements for this position:Travel, complete Department approved training in conflict resolution, adoption

     

    competency, motivational interviewing, collaborative problem solving, and program service delivery in Economic Self-Sufficiency and

     

    Substance Abuse and Mental Health.
