Education and/or Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Data Analysis preferred but not required, as well as two years of experience in similar fields. If no bachelor’s degree: High School diploma or GED equivalent and at least 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance, business, and/or data analysis; or an Associates Degree with a focus in accounting and/or business and at least 3 years’ experience in similar fields.
*Note: Additional years of experience may substitute for the education qualification for a degree. Example: Two years of experience can substitute one year of education.
About Us:
The Office of Revenue Management is under the Assistant Secretary for Administration located at The Department of Children and Families (DCF) Headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida. This Office is comprised of four units responsible for federal cost allocation and reporting, cash management, and revenue forecasting.
The Cash Management and Receipts Unit is responsible for daily cash management and federal draws, investing and divesting accounts, revenue monitoring, and cash receipts.
What you will do:
+ This is a professional position performing highly responsible technical and operational analysis functions in the Office of Revenue Management within the Cash Management and Receipts Unit. The incumbent in this position will be expected to function independently and with minimal supervision to perform complex tasks. Occasional overtime may be required. Time work will be adequately compensated.
+ Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
+ Creates deposit packages and process package for scanning and record retention.
+ Creates TR30 scripts and post entries in FLAIR.
+ Process Debit Memos as needed.
+ Creates JT (TR 96) revenue receipt entries sent by other state agencies.
+ Processes expenditure refunds both current year and prior year and or salary refunds resulting from check deposits processed or requests send by The State of Florida, Department of Financial Services or Human Resource departments.
+ Researches and identifies receipts sent to DCF which do not clearly state what the revenue is for. Obtains the correct FLAIR coding information to post in FLAIR or identify if the revenues belong to another state agency and forwards to the appropriate party.
+ Researches and posts the Prior Year Warrant Cancellations and the 12-Month-Old Warrant Cancellations when reports are available in RDS monthly.
+ Research and correct any revenue items identified, that are not reconciled in state accounts to both FLAIR Central Accounting and Departmental FLAIR, by the Reconciliation Unit notifications.
+ Analyze and prepare year end accruals associated with Cash Management and Receipts Unit. This includes, but is not limited to: Service Charge to General Revenue, Unverified Departments, Accounts Receivable Allowances, etc.
+ Run daily the Unverified Report and Transfer Report, analyze for outstanding transactions, address transactions accordingly.
+ Using both verbal and written communication with internal and external customers to discuss financial processes, issues, or work products of the unit.
