**Location:** Buffalo, NY
**Duration:** 12 months
Overview:
Provides servant-leadership and mentorship to multiple cross-functional agile teams through effective application of Agile principles and frameworks including Scrum, Kanban and Extreme Programming (XP). Strengthens understanding of effective practices, theories, and techniques to support continuous improvement. Educates and coaches teams to create an environment that fosters self-organization, cross-functionality, collaboration, conflict resolution, transparency, and continuous improvement. Visualizes, communicates, and radiates team information to keep their work and impediments visible to stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Utilize a broad knowledge base of agile practices including user stories, retrospectives, story mapping, Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration, pairing, and information radiators to help create high-performing teams
+ Encourage a continuous improvement culture within agile teams by promoting transparency, collaboration, and learning through retrospectives
+ Curate team-level coaching content to guide and mentor teams in agile practices
+ Facilitate team ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
+ Promote workflow visibility using information radiators and other agile tools
+ Remove team-level impediments and escalate blocking issues that require external support
+ Collaborate with other Agile Leaders to advance Agile maturity across the organization
+ Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters and serve as a resource for Agile best practices
+ Host and support various team learning opportunities such as communities of practice, meetups, reading groups, and training sessions
+ Ensure adherence to the company’s risk, regulatory, and internal control standards
+ Support and reflect the client’s brand and commitment to diversity and inclusion
+ Perform other related duties as assigned
Scope of Responsibilities:
Works with multiple cross-functional agile teams to promote agile maturity and optimize delivery. Operates in a dynamic environment where continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and servant leadership are critical to team success.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
This position does not include direct personnel management responsibilities. However, it leads through influence, coaching, and team facilitation in an agile environment.
Education and Experience Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a member of an agile team, including at least 2 years as a Scrum Master **OR**
+ In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years higher education and/or work experience, including at least 4 years as a member of an agile team, with a minimum of 2 years in a Scrum Master role
Required Skill Sets:
+ Scrum Framework
+ Kanban
+ Agile Principles
Education and Experience Preferred:
+ Experience in at least two technology team roles (e.g., project manager, UX, business analyst, developer, tester, deployment)
+ Demonstrated ability to foster team self-organization and continuous improvement
+ Strong knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices
+ Experience with developing or managing digital capabilities
+ Familiarity with Design Thinking principles
+ Strong communication and leadership skills
+ Experience leading through influence rather than authority
