Join Oshkosh Aerotech as a Machine Repair Technician supporting the Newrest inflight catering operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and functionality of high-demand kitchen and facility equipment. You’ll perform a mix of preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance tasks in a fast-paced, airport-based environment. Your technical expertise will support operational efficiency and ensure we meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

**Shift/Schedule:** Wed-Saturday, 6pm-6am
YOUR IMPACT
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
+ Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain inflight catering equipment (e.g., dishwashers, ovens, coolers, conveyors), kitchen utilities, and general facility systems.
+ Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components.
+ Accurately document maintenance activities, parts used, and completion status in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
+ Use computers and digital tools to receive job assignments, complete work orders, and access ongoing safety and compliance training.
+ Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and support continuous kitchen operations.
+ Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics to carry out precise repairs and adjustments.
+ Maintain a high standard of safety awareness and follow all company safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
+ Interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and other stakeholders to communicate repair timelines and ensure minimal disruption to service.
+ Collaborate with other team members to prioritize repairs and share technical knowledge.
+ Perform general facility upkeep tasks such as replacing light fixtures, clearing clogged drains, or installing shelves and fixtures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ 3+ years’ of hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
+ Experience using CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
+ Professional & Customer-service mindset in fast-paced, service-oriented environments
+ Ability to obtain and maintain airport security badging for secure area access
+ Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ High school diploma or GED **preferred** ; candidates without a diploma may be considered but could face limitations in future advancement opportunities.
+ Valid Driver’s License
+ Experience in airport, catering, or food service equipment maintenance
+ Strong safety record and demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of the Machine Repair Technician, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good, close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is primarily within a high-volume commercial kitchen facility setting. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, hot surfaces, wet or humid conditions, sharp tools, elevated platforms, and potential contact with cleaning chemicals. The environment may also include exposure to loud noise, temperature fluctuations, and slippery floors. Maintenance tasks may occasionally require work in utility rooms, rooftops, or outdoor areas immediately adjacent to the building. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided.
