Description

Mathenyis a special hospital and School for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities Matheny’s mission is to provide exceptional care and an optimal quality of life for children and adults with special needs and medically complex developmental disabilities.

Qualified candidates who are hired for Full Time employment will receive a Signing Bonus of $1500.00. ($750.00 payable after completion of three months of continuous employment and the remaining $750.00 after completion of six months of continuous employment).

The Elementary Teacher in Secondary Setting APAProvides individualized instruction to meet the needs of students according to their IEP; Assists in the design, coordination, and implementation of a NJDOE approved instructional program. Reports to: Principal/Director of Education. Employment Status: Exempt

Designs lesson plans in accordance with the New Jersey Curriculum Standards and the students’ IEP. Works as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide a consistent, high quality educational program which meets students’ individual needs. Identifies needs of individual students through evaluation (formative and summative) consistent with New Jersey Curriculum Standards in order to foster realistic student-based outcomes. Completes documentation in accordance with school/department requirements. Compiles and maintains accurate student data and records according to school goals and objectives. Uses specialized student equipment and instructional methods effectively; Demonstrates an understanding of childhood development. Consults with other members of the IEP team to assemble information consistent with the needs and capabilities of each student; Integrates the most appropriate educational program into each student’s overall program.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The minimum salary scale for this position is $ 55,511.00 annually.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.

New Jersey Department of Education Teacher of the Handicapped Certificate.

Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) OR Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)
