    The Position

    Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

     

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

     

    This position is located within the Department of Health and Human Services, Director's Office (DHHS), Fiscal Services in Carson City. This position is responsible for auditing and processing payable and receivable accounting documents, monitoring and reconciling grant funds, preparation of federal draws, preparation of federal financial reports, billing, and interagency transfers. This position will be assigned two small budget accounts and will assist in the biennial budget building process. This position will participate in the performance of clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for the DHHS Director's Office, following State and agency accounting procedures in the areas of payroll, budgetary accounting, cash flow, revenues and expenditures. Incumbents review accounting system reports for accuracy and make corrections such as coding to ensure compliance with clearly established guidelines, collect data for standard recurring reports or prepare internal reports that combine historical data with Controllers reports; and perform related duties as assigned. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

    Special Requirements

    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.

     

    Additional Position Criteria

     

    This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
