    The Substance use Clinician will provide comprehensive assessment, counseling/therapy to individuals and groups served the Ayer Community Counseling office.

    Minimum Education Required

     

    Master's Degree

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct psychosocial/diagnostic assessments on clients referred to the program.

    + Implement individual, group and family substance abuse/trauma informed/Motivational Enhancement treatment.

    + Manage risk for all assigned clients in accordance with treatment team recommendations.

    + Conduct assessments for Driver Alcohol Education (DAE) and Second Offender Aftercare (SOA) Program, lead groups in support of both programs.

    + Collaboratively develop treatment plans, interventions and discharge-planning with clients’ families, Drug Court Coordinator and care providers.

    + Conduct Substance Abuse evaluations for court.

    + Maintain strong linkages with the District Courts and on-going substance use, mental health and medical treatment as indicated.

    Qualifications

    + Master’s Degree in related field required with two years’ minimum experience in substance use and/or addictions treatment.

    + Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication, including proper documentation abilities.

    + Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and providers.

    + Enthusiastic, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced, team atmosphere.

    + Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
