The Director of WMS Deployment and Enhancement will lead the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Blue Yonder (BY) Warehouse Management System (WMS) across the network. This role will be responsible for ensuring pre-conversion site readiness, deployment execution, and post-go-live operational stabilization to drive efficiency and business continuity.
With deep expertise in automation, warehouse technology, system integration, and operational strategy, this leader will bridge critical technical gaps, accelerate deployment timelines, and enhance the adaptability of new WMS functionalities. The director will work closely with IT, Operations, and vendor partners to ensure smooth transitions and maximize system capabilities.
This position is remote with up to 80% travel which means the work can be completed from anywhere except Hawaii or United States Territories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
WMS Deployment Leadership & Site Readiness
+ Develop and execute a multi-year WMS deployment strategy across 70+ distribution centers, ensuring alignment with enterprise business goals.
+ Own and direct end-to-end WMS implementation including pre-conversion readiness, inventory validation, system configuration, training, and operational cutover planning.
+ Train and develop teams to improve WMS proficiency and ensure operational readiness.
+ Manage hypercare support post-go-live to ensure stability, resolve issues, and optimize workflows.
+ Create standardized deployment processes to drive efficiency and consistency across all locations.
+ Work closely with IT executive teams to influence system updates, configurations, and integrations based on operational needs.
System Optimization & Enhancement
+ Identify and implement enhancements that maximize operational efficiency, system stability, and warehouse automation.
+ Lead team to drive continuous improvements based on findings from User Acceptance Testing (UAT), post-go-live feedback, and operational performance.
+ Partner with IT and vendors to influence system upgrades, integrations, and process refinements.
+ Leverage data-driven insights to improve order fulfillment speed, inventory accuracy, and labor productivity.
Accelerating Deployment & System Adaptability
+ Implement strategies to reduce deployment cycle times while maintaining high operational standards.
+ Drive faster system adoption by developing robust training programs and support resources for site leadership and frontline teams.
+ Serve as the escalation point for deployment challenges, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring minimal disruption during transitions.
+ Introduce automation enhancements (e.g., ASRS, Pick-to-Light, Robotics) that improve warehouse productivity.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Change Management
+ Establish and lead a dedicated Operations Support Team to provide ongoing expertise and troubleshooting support.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders, including Distribution Center Leaders, IT, and Finance, to align system capabilities with business goals.
+ Support site leadership with change management best practices to ease the transition and maximize system utilization.
**SUPERVISION** :
+ Will lead a team:
+ 1 project manager
+ 4 site implementation managers (who will be responsible for 2 trainers and 8 operational support members)
+ Total team of 45 individuals
WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ **Remote** : This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ 10+ years of experience in supply chain operations, WMS deployment, IT integrations, and warehouse automation.
+ 5+ years of experience leading people
+ 80% of travel required
EDUCATION
+ Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred by not required
+ Or relevant experience.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
$110,000 - $180,000
