Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

+ Contribute to the effective team management of behavior of students in assigned class, and to the implementation of Individual Education Plans.

+ Assure that methods of intervention with students are employed in a therapeutic manner and are responsive to individual student's Individual Education/Treatment Plan.

+ Assure that necessary information regarding student is communicated to involved staff in a timely manner.

+ Support and enhance teacher's instructional efforts by providing individual and small group tutoring. Assist teacher in preparation of curriculum materials.

+ Perform other duties (such as maintaining decorative bulletin boards, organizing and supervising special activities, providing transportation of students as needed, assisting in outreach to parents) as assigned.

+ Maintain thorough and timely documentation of significant incidents.

+ Substitute employees can fill roles of Teacher, Teacher Aide, 1:1 Aide, and Crisis Staff

+ Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree

+ Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries, effective communication and mutual respect

+ Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, patience, and active listening

+ Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, customs, and lifestyles

+ Ability to physically restrain if required

Preferred Qualifications

+ Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity
