    **Marengo Disposal** , a **Waste Connections** company, is seeking a **safety-driven Operations Supervisor** to lead our team in **Marengo, Illinois** . This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a background in **transportation, logistics, or waste management** who is looking to grow within a stable and expanding company.

     

    In this role, you’ll oversee a team of **commercial truck drivers** , manage day-to-day route operations, and promote a strong **safety culture** . We offer structured mentoring and training to prepare you for future **management advancement opportunities** within our national organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Supervise and assign work to **solid waste collection crews**

    + Oversee daily operations and adjust **routes and staff** as needed for maximum efficiency

    + Lead **safety meetings** , perform audits, and ensure regulatory compliance

    + Manage and coordinate coordinating daily logistics with **Dispatch**

    + Maintain and update **employee files** and HR documentation

    + Enforce company policies through **progressive discipline** as required

    + Conduct **field inspections** to ensure safety and service standards

    + Address and resolve **customer complaints** related to collection services

    + Complete **quarterly performance reviews** for route drivers

    + Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + **2+ years of supervisory experience** , ideally in **waste management** , **transportation** , or **logistics**

    + **CDL license** or willingness to obtain one

    + Experience with **dispatch, fleet operations** , or **route supervision** is a plus

    + Strong communication and problem-solving skills

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred
