Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D is recruiting for a Director, Strategic Business Improvement. This position is a hybrid role and can be located in Horsham, PA; Titusville, NJ; or Raritan, NJ.
The Director, Strategic Business Improvement will serve as the Global Medical Safety (GMS) leader for creation of the strategy for, and delivery of, high-impact strategic projects, and continuous improvement. This individual will be a strategic thought partner and ad hoc member of the GMS Leadership Team (LT). In this role, the Director will partner/collaborate across multiple operating units, functions, and/or COEs, as well as: (a) work/consult with GMS Leadership to help define and shape strategy, ensure tactical execution alignment to the strategy, and integrate the two into the Innovative Medicine, Office of the Chief Medical Officer (IM OCMO) and Innovative Medicine R&D business; (b) lead/manage high priority initiatives to transform GMS and add value to the GMS business; (c) align and ensure that strategic actions are taken based on strategic decisions by the GMS LT; and (d) develop and implement the GMS communications strategy
Principal Responsibilities:
+ Lead and/or manage high impact, high visibility GMS projects, ensuring coordination, alignment, and change management across GMS functions and GMS Business Partners.
+ Interface with leaders and governing bodies for GMS strategic improvement initiatives to drive strategic decision-making.
+ Develop and implement GMS communications strategy.
+ Establish Goals and Objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/Metrics for GMS strategic business initiatives, working closely with the Head of the GMS Management Office. Ensure and measure progress against G&Os.
+ Identify synergies and leverage opportunities across GMS and Local Medical Safety Units, Innovative Medicine, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, LOCs, or other potential areas of collaboration/opportunity.
+ Manage, develop, and train direct reports, and/or mentor dotted line reports and others.
+ Support and coordinate with Head of GMS Management Office on topics regarding budget, headcount
Qualifications:
+ A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a scientific or health care discipline. Advanced degree (Master’s, PhD) is preferred.
+ A minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or related function (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Device Vigilance, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, etc.) is required.
+ A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management or leadership of strategic initiatives/transformation is required.
+ A minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience is required.
+ A minimum of 5 years of experience in a large multinational biopharmaceutical company is preferred.
+ Experience in change management is required.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) and Change Management Certification is preferred.
+ Must have excellent communication skills.
+ The ability to lead in a matrix organization is required.
+ This position will require 25% domestic and international travel.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160,000 to $276,000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

+ Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
