    Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic

     

    HOURLY PAY: $20.20 to 22.84/hour plus mileage reimbursement

     

    Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in certain areas

     

    Coverage area: Hesperia, Apple Valley, Victorville, Adelanto and surrounding areas

     

    Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers and school-age children and youth where they can naturally learn and develop.

     

    + Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational in-home services OR in school settings* for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.

    + *This specific area works with two age groups. One is the school-age range (4 to 21 years old) where our Specialists work in school settings 1-on-1 with children who have been diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability.

    + The other age group is the infant-toddler age range (age 0-3 years) where our Specialists do sessions in-home. The child's parent/guardian is always present for these sessions.

    + Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.

    + Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.

    + Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents with written weekly activities and effective coaching.

    + Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

    _Qualifications:_

    + High School diploma required - Bachelor’s Degree or some college in Early Childhood education or Human Development is highly desired

    + One year experience working with infants or young children and their parents/guardians _preferred_

    + **_For school-age program position:_** Skills, experience or training in ABA and/or Behavior Management is _highly desired_

    + Valid CA driver’s license in good standing; also must have one year of being a licensed driver (in any US state)

    + Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

    + Effective communication skills to manage relationships a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do

    + Flexible availability including some evenings and weekend times as needed (need to be available generally when the parents/guardians are available so could be during the day, in the evening, or on a weekend day)

    + Willing and able to drive to homes of program participants; working environment is in-home setting with the children and their parents
