Job Description
**AECOM's** EHS team is seeking a self-motivated, team oriented **Environmental Field Technician** to work on-site at the Waste Consolidation Site (WCS) at Robinson Maneuver Training Center (RMTC) at Camp Robinson, AR.
The Environmental Field Technician will work under the supervision of a project manager and will work closely with project manager while training is being completed as required within 90 days of employment.
The position is 100% based at the client’s site (RMTC) to provide contract labor services to man the Waste Consolidation Site (WCS) project. The WCS receives wastes generated from routine operations & maintenance conducted from the Arkansas Army National Guard (AR ARNG) at the RMTC. The WCS is building used for an accumulation area for hazardous wastes, non-hazardous/non-regulated wastes, universal wastes and used oils/fuels. The RMTC WCS Operator will report onsite to the RMTC Hazardous Waste Manager and have an office with a desk and computer furnished in the WCS building.
Responsibilities/information for this position include:
+ Operate the RMTCWCS from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm five days per week (Monday through Friday) except for federal and state holidays observed by RMTC/AR ARNG.
+ Complete necessary training within 90 days of employment including hazardous waste and identification, forklift training, training on AR ARNG Environmental Management Plans and SOPs, DOT Hazardous Materials Training, OSHA Hazard Communications Standard, Web Application System for Turn-in Execution (WASTE) procedures, completing DLA-LS turn-in documents, other chemical education as needed.
+ Follow Health and Safety Plan and AR ARNG SOP for Waste Management for job duties.
+ Receive, inspect, sort, count, and classify turn-in waste materials in accordance with State and Federal Regulations for solid waste.
+ Assist with hazardous chemicals and waste meet turn-in and paperwork requirements.
+ Characterize all materials turned in to identify contaminants, hazards, and classify for proper disposal or reuse based on information provided by AR-ARNG Unit SDS for chemical. Retain/log for shipments.
+ Prepare materials for accumulation, shipment and disposal.
+ Place wastes into appropriate packaging/containers with appropriate label for waste accumulation/shipment.
+ Coordinate and prepare turn-in documents for waste shipments with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services (DS) for Arkansas Department of Military (DOM) approval/ Schedule shipments with DLA-LS/ Maintain copies of manifests/turn-in documents for each waste shipment.
+ Perform routine weekly and monthly inspections of waste accumulation areas, spill response kits, emergency equipment, containers, as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in the environmental field or hazardous material management field.
+ Valid U.S driver's license is required for this role.
Preferred Requirements:
+ Associate's degree including basic chemistry or science.
+ 3+ years of experience in the environmental field or hazardous material management field.
+ Attention to detail and strong organizational/record keeping skills.
+ Familiarity with RMTC/ AR ARNG organizational command structure.
+ Forklift Training/DOT/RCRA/Hazard Communications Training and/or OSHA HAZWOPER training certifications
Additional Information
+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $20.00/hour - $23.00/hour.
