WDAF-TV / Fox 4 in Kansas City is seeking a News Production Assistant. The News Production Assistant provides support to production staff prior to, during and after the production of a program.

+ Collaborate with the director and studio staff to coordinate the action in the studio or while out on location

+ Maintains and stores equipment

+ Studio maintenance

+ Adjusts positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure and lighting as requested by the director

+ Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts

+ Operates remote cameras during live broadcasts

+ Confers with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements

+ Sets up cameras and related equipment

+ Runs teleprompter during newscasts

+ Greet and mic guests

+ Coordinate segments in the studio

+ Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills :

+ High School Diploma required

+ Familiarity with processes and procedures of a television production department.

+ Experience in television, film, or post production preferred

+ Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff.

+ Detail oriented.

+ Excellent communication and organization skills.

+ Basic computer knowledge including MS Office.
