JOB SUMMARY
Planning and Economics is looking for a driven and collaborative individual interested in managing the scheduling of feedstocks and products in and out of the refinery. This role involves close coordination with key business partners to identify, evaluate, and implement optimization opportunities across the value chain.
As part of this role, you will work cross-functionally with teams such as Corporate Planning and Economics, Refinery Operations, and Commercial Scheduling. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop a strong understanding of refinery logistics and economics, while gaining exposure to the commercial aspects of the business.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Required)
+ In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
+ Four (4) or more years process engineering experience in a refinery or petrochemical environment, with a desire for at least two process engineering rotations (Required)
+ No Licensure or Certification Required.

Provides on call support outside of regular business hours; including ability to work remotely as needed, Will be required to monitor refinery status and scheduling and make adjusts as needed; including weekends, based on business need, Must provide coverage for counterparts (e.g., vacation, PTO, etc.) to ensure business continuity, Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, respirator)
+ Independently manages scheduling and coordination of feedstocks and products into and out of the refinery, ensuring alignment with operational plans and commercial objectives.
+ Analyzes economic drivers that significantly impact refinery scheduling, identifying and executing value-adding opportunities to optimize product flow and feedstock utilization.
+ Provide break-even values to traders for crude and heavy oil movements utilizing tools such as the refinery LP Model
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Refinery Operations, Commercial Scheduling, and Planning and Economics
+ Collaborates closely with tank farm and refinery operations to align logistical execution with economic strategy and refinery constraints.
+ Responds to unplanned events, taking prompt action to implement contingency plans that minimize supply disruptions and operational impacts.
+ Develops and/or utilize scheduling tools to optimize operations and schedules
+ Drive continuous improvement of processed and expands on existing systems to improve the business
+ Provides dependable backup coverage for Site Planning Manager and Light Oils Coordinator
+ Cross trains as Light Oils Coordinator to develop skills for gasoline and product blending.
+ Understands the financial implications of scheduling decisions
