Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of common computer hardware and software platforms, common IT related equipment, PC and Mac operating systems, software imaging schemes, Microsoft Office suite.
+ Effective writing skills, basic math skills, basic script writing skills,
+ Familiar with electrical components to include microcontrollers and Raspberry Pi’s.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages such as C++ and Python, and prior experience working with operating systems such as Linux and Windows (both workstation and servers).
+ Ability to understand and apply technical information in manuals, blueprints, and equipment specifications , and be able to generate general reports.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of working with IoT (Internet for Things) in a network restrictive environment.
+ Must have a bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or any combination of experience and education that would allow someone to meet all of the requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of campus software purchasing procedures, database management, web development, and general IT related tasks.
+ Ability to work in a team environment, manage other workers, communicate effectively, interact courteously with others, establish vendor relationships,
+ Troubleshooting system problems
+ Maintaining and repairing complex equipment
+ Prioritizing workload
+ Performing calculations of computer uptime
+ Inventory management.
Job Description
Responsible for providing technical support and direction to departmental faculty, staff, and students of the university.
Job Duties
+ Assist faculty and staff in specifying, purchasing, installing, maintaining, and repairing office/research hardware and software systems.
+ Maintain and setup servers, network switches and WiFi related systems as needed.
+ Assist in specifying, purchasing, installing, maintaining, and repairing classroom and computer laboratory hardware, software, and audio visual systems.
+ Maintain inventory of faculty, staff, classroom, and laboratory hardware and software.
+ Participate in the development and enforcement of laboratory IT related procedures and processes.
+ Maintain statistics on usage of various computer systems, software, and IT support tickets.
+ Assist program administrative staff in maintaining sufficient computer and printer supplies.
+ Maintain programmatic LAN and device interconnectivity.
+ Other duties as assigned.
