    + Experience in Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) Tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing.

    Job Description

    The IT Assistance Center ( ITAC ) within the division of Information Technology at Texas State University is seeking a professional to join a customer-focused team dedicated to communication and engagement for the university community on IT topics. This role involves designing, creating, and maintaining various types of technical documentation, and technology publications. The position requires translating complex or technical information into accurate, clear, and concise materials tailored to diverse target audiences. Responsibilities include creating, reviewing, critiquing, formatting, and editing communications, presentations, design documents, and process documents. Additionally, this role involves developing presentation content and organizing IT outreach events for the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. Some weekend work and after-hours communication are required.

    Job Duties

    + In coordination with the Vice President for Information Technology (VP for IT) office, develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to enhance ITAC’s brand and public image.

    + Create, edit, and distribute content across various communication platforms, including press releases, newsletters, and ITAC’s website.

    + Manage and maintain ITAC’s support website which includes technical support documentation related to a variety of IT services.

    + Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust as necessary.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and formatting.

    + Develop and send IT service disruption communications and provide timely responses to the university.

    + Plan and execute outreach events, including presentations to faculty, staff, students, and the greater university community.

    + Manage and mentor student employees, providing guidance and support to help them develop their professional skills.

    + Work some weekends and send communications after hours as needed to keep the university community apprised of IT service status changes.

    The Division of Information Technology is launching a new service in collaboration with the Division of Marketing and Communications. The new service, Canva, is available to all Texas State University students, faculty, and staff.

     

    Your task is to draft an email announcing the service to the Texas State community. The email should include an appropriate graphic and the Texas State conscribed email list statement: “This message was sent to all members of a mailing list established and maintained by Texas State University. Your inclusion in this list results from your relationship and status with the University and is not optional.”

    Prompt 2:

    The Division of Information Technology is temporarily taking down a service for routine, scheduled maintenance. The service, Catsweb, will be unavailable for three days.
