ABOUT YOU
As a Motor Equipment Repairperson (Bargaining Unit, Local 25), you play an indispensable role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of critical equipment. As a dedicated and technically skilled individual, you are passionate about maintaining and repairing a diverse range of motor equipment, from automotive to specialized aviation tools. With unwavering attention to detail and a commitment to excellence, you uphold the highest standards of safety and precision, contributing to the airport's mission of providing reliable services to passengers and supporting essential operations. By demonstrating adaptability, integrity, and responsibility in your work, you actively contribute to Massport’s vision of maintaining an excellent facility and ensuring the utmost satisfaction and safety for airport users.
What you will do:
+ Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of motor equipment at Logan Airport, including gasoline, diesel, automotive, construction, fire, aviation, and snow removal equipment.
+ Inspect and assess jobs, coordinating with the shop foreman to establish maintenance schedules for equipment.
+ Maintain comprehensive records of preventive maintenance and repairs, including costs, parts, and tools and equipment maintenance.
+ Operate motor tools and equipment, including power hand tools, and respond to emergency situations following airport procedures and acting as an escort as required.
WHAT YOU OFFER
+ Ability to communicate in Standard English, as well as read and demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical in addition, manual skills.
+ 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of gas and diesel equipment such as automobiles and heavy equipment.
+ Valid CDL B driver’s license with the only restriction being for corrective lenses, and either possess or commit to obtaining a Department of Public Safety Hoisting License Classification 3A within one year.
