    Summary This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent supervises a staff of civilian and military personnel responsible for the planning of short and long-term operations in support of the Directorate of Management Office. Responsible for the management and execution of daily business activities, critical support services, and long-range strategic planning exercises direct oversight of Resources and Acquisition Management Office. Responsibilities As a CHIEF OF STAFF at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Supervises a staff of civilian and military personnel responsible for the administrative support of the Director of Management. Serves as the principal support for staff management of day-to-day operations, business operations, policy and procedure development, process improvement, task management and customer service metrics Responsible for the management and execution of daily business activities, critical support services, and long-range strategic planning. Establishes program objectives, develops long range plans and identifies required resources in order to promote an efficient, economical and progressive organization. Directs the planning and execution of financial processes, human resources management, information management; business planning; personnel resource assignments and skill development; and oversees other critical support services such as, risk management and special staff functions within the Agency. Ensure effective operation and maintenece of the Directorate's resources and acquistion program. Oversees the formulation and execution of business and budgetary management processes for the Directorate across all phases of Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE). Ensures all organizational programs, plans, and policies are systematically integrated into an overall plan of operation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Applying qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluative methods to provide assessment and improvement of program effectiveness and complex management processes and systems across missions, functions, and resources, including the development of customer service metrics Leading timely and proper execution of program activities, managing resources, and determining appropriate program emphasis to achieve goals. Enusuring proper application of agency level, and government-wide policies and regulations, and leading organizational level policy and procedure development. Managing major organization financial management programs across the full spectrum of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
