    Allegra Marketing Print Mail in Plymouth, Michigan, is a full-service commercial printer serving local, regional and national clients. We are looking for a Bindery Operator for our 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) and 3rd shift (10 pm-6am) to join our growing team and embraces our core values: passion for success, teamwork, respect, and integrity!

     

    If you thrive in a fast-paced production environment, have a keen attention to detail and familiarity with printing, bindery/finishing (folders, cutters, booklet maker, mailing equipment and more) or are eager to learn, this position may be right for you.

    JOB DUTIES:

    + Set up and operate bindery machines, such as folding, scoring and die-cutting machinery.

    + Read work orders to determine instructions and specifications for machine set-up.

    + Install or adjust bindery machine devices, such as knives, guides, rollers, rounding forms, creasing rams, or clamps.

    + Examine stitched, collated, bound, or unbound product samples for defects, such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn pages, loose pages, or loose or uncut threads.

    + Maintain records, such as daily production records, using specified forms.

    + Lubricate, clean, or make minor repairs to machine parts to keep machines in working condition.

    + Punch holes in and fasten paper sheets, signatures, or other material, using hand or machine punches and staplers.

    + Experience with any of the following equipment is a plus but not required, MBO pile feed folders, MBO / Stahl continuous feed folders, Muller Martini saddle stitcher, Polar cutter, Heidelberg cylinder die cutters, Dick Moll folder gluer, laminator

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Mechanical Aptitude

    + Commercial Bindery experience preferred but not required. On-the-job training is also available.
