    Job Description:

    The Philanthropy Specialist II serves as the administrative liaison to local Foundation Executive Directors, Directors of Development, and Gift Officers, whose purpose is to generate revenue through fundraising activities. Working with Foundation leaders and other members of the Foundation team, this position is responsible for complex and diverse business activities that ensure that fundraising teams are prepared for strategic, well-coordinated, high-yield solicitations that lead to significant philanthropic support for Intermountain Health.

    Position Details:

    This is a full-time hybrid position. This position will be covering two caresites that are approximately 30 miles apart in distance. The home base location will be Lutheran Hospital and the secondary location is Platt Valley Hospital. The frequency of travel to Platt Valley has yet to be determined, as it is in the process of integrating with the Intermountain system from the Legacy SCL. It could be as frequent as once a week.

    Essential Job Duties:

    + Plans and executes logistics for meetings, site visits, trainings, and events for Principal, Major, Associate, and Planned Giving programs: creates agendas and organizes related materials; coordinates catering; sets up and trouble shoots conference calls; takes and distributes minutes; manages follow-up activities. Supports leadership in preparing for local Philanthropy Board meetings and other activities.

    + Manages local activities related to the facility requests for Release of Funds (communicate available fund balances, standards for reimbursement, documentation requirements and so on); participates in quarterly finance meetings; processes fund transfer requests as they are received.

    + Ensures data integrity by coordinating with the Gift Processing and Date Entry Team.

    + Enters and tracks donor data in the Raiser's Edge donor database; runs reports and queries, as needed.

    + Supports local Foundation leadership, including active calendar management and donor meeting support.

    + Supports the Foundation’s Continuous Improvement efforts (maintains local huddle boards, “Ideas” generation and implementation, and so on).

    + Manages expense reports and reimbursements for local Foundation caregivers. Prepares local deposits consistently and in line with Intermountain’s Cash Handling policies and procedures; reviews daily gift reports for accuracy. Participates in professional development education opportunities to enhance and increase fundraising and other skills.

    + Adheres to Intermountain’s privacy (HIPAA) and confidentiality standards, to ensure the protection of donor, patient, financial and other sensitive information.

    + Understands the importance of the Foundation in achieving Intermountain’s mission to Help People Live the Healthiest Lives Possible.

    + Tactfully handles difficult and sensitive situations with staff and customers while remaining positive and professional. When needed, escalates issues to the appropriate leader.

    + Provides the highest possible level of customer service to relevant stakeholders while executing organizational objectives.

    + Orders, stocks, monitors, and maintains adequate office and other supply inventory levels.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus two years of experience in fundraising, non-profit operational support, event planning, prospect research, presentations and public speaking, workingeffectively with board members, civic and business leaders, and other constituencies OR Four years of experience in fundraising, non-profit operational support, event planning, prospect research, presentations and public speaking, working effectively with board members, civic and business leaders, and other constituencies.

    + Demonstrated strong and written and verbal communications skills.

    + Effective interpersonal skills, including relationship building and communication in-person, over the phone, and via email with diverse groups of people (e.g. volunteers, board members, hospital staff, and others).

    + Strong project organizational skills, demonstrated orientation to details, timeliness, and ability to work under pressure.

    + Demonstrated strong analytic and creative skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision while balancing the need to provide key information and updates to leadership.

    + Experience using word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, internet, email and scheduling applications.

    + Experience working with volunteers.

    Preferred Requirements:

    + Fundraising experience.

    + Experience working in a healthcare environment.

    + Functional working experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge.

    + Experience supporting Major Gift activities and/or office operations.

    + Experience working in a complex matrix organization.

    + Previous administrative support for senior leader and secondarily with high level donors and board members.

    + Ability to navigate evolving landscape as SCL fully integrates with Intermountain Health.

    + Ability to successfully manage.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.

    + Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

    + See and read computer monitors and documents.

    + Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $29.66 - $46.72
