GCM Client Development Sales Leader

Overview:
Responsible for sales strategy including development, implementation, and execution for assigned Global Capital Markets (GCM) product line, assigned staff, and meeting individual and team assigned sales goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Complete and ensure staff completion of individual needs analysis for current and potential Global Capital Markets clients. Understand client needs and communicate viable solutions based on those needs.
+ Develop sales strategy for assigned product and team to meet or exceed business objectives, while ensuring policies, procedures and standards of GCM are upheld, budget requirements are met, marketing plans are contributed to and supported, effective sales metrics are established and employed, and required administrative tasks are completed as prescribed.
+ Develop and maintain own client relationships, accompanying assigned sales staff on calls as appropriate, working with fellow Sales Leaders, Product and Division Managers and modeling support for the business line's activities by being actively involved with external and internal clients and influencers.
+ Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
+ Complete and maintain calling activity logs via contact management system to provide a record of activity. Review assigned staff calling activity to ensure accurate and timely input.
+ Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
+ Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
+ Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
+ Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
+ Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ professional work, sales and/or leadership experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ professional work, sales and/or leadership experience
Minimum of 3 years managerial and/or leadership experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience conducting and understanding individual needs analysis of potential clients
Education and Experience Preferred:
Advanced degree
Certified Corporate Trust Specialist (CCTS) certification
Corporate Trust sales experience
Sales supervisory or leadership experience
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $179,370.55 - $298,950.92 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
