    Returning staff with a Red Card certification will be eligible for a $1500 bonus. Newly hired staff who are already Red Card certified or become certified this season will receive a $1,000 bonus.

    The Idaho Department of Lands offers rewarding seasonal opportunities that allow you to make a difference while gaining valuable experience. Positions last 3 to 8 months, starting as early as April 2025 and ending as late as November 2025 , depending on the role and state needs.

    Available Locations for Cache and Dispatch Positions:

    + Fire Cache: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

     

    Fire Cache Positions

     

    Perform and assist in assigned daily tasks that revolve around physical labor, data entry, and operating machinery to refurbish wildland firefighting equipment in a team-oriented environment.

    Primary Duties:

    + Receiving, shipping, returns, and refurbishment of firefighting equipment.

    + Washing firefighting supplies, frame tanks, boxing supplies, counting and sorting equipment, and loading/offloading trucks.

    + Pressure testing water handling equipment and performing other duties as assigned.

    + Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lit.

    Cache Driver Role:

    + Driving across multiple state lines, up to 10 hours continuously, with multiple days on the road.

    + Note: Due to work/rest guidelines, individuals cannot be hired as both a laborer and a driver simultaneously.

    Work Environment:

    + Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or later, 6 days a week, with extended periods on your feet.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Valid driver’s license.

    + Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a recurring basis.

    + Must be 18 years or older.

    + Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods and bend, stoop, and work in tiring or sometimes uncomfortable positions.

    Desired Experience:

    + Forklift operation, warehouse environment experience, and driving box trucks up to 26’.
