    Job Title: Orbital MIG/TIG Welder

    Job Description

    This position supports the Fabricated Materials welding department, responsible for welding all types of metals together according to supplied prints. The role requires expertise in TIG welding, and involves welding, fabricating, and fusing various types of metal, both small and big parts, while understanding material heat reactions.

    Responsibilities

    + Weld, fabricate, and fuse various types of metal.

    + Read and understand blueprints, work orders, and weld call outs.

    + Understand material heat reactions.

    + Develop best processes for welding assemblies.

    + Check and measure dimensions during the welding process.

    + Grind and deburr parts when necessary prior to welding.

    + Check and straighten parts when needed.

    + Prep all weld areas and tap with drill fixtures when required.

    + Ensure quality meets company and customer standards.

    + Maintain tolerances as required on print.

    + Set up welding machine without assistance.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of experience doing TIG welding.

    + Experience working with blueprints.

    + Experience working with stainless steel and aluminum.

    + Knowledgeable in sheet metal and frame fabrication.

    + Competent in basic math with an understanding of weld shrinkage.

    + Able to fabricate parts to print in a timely manner.

    + Must pass weld test by welding various samples as required.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in welding processes and procedures.

    + Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings.

    + Must be able to multi-task effectively.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a cleaner fabrication shop within the Welding Department, alongside approximately 10 other welders and 3-4 machinists over two shifts. Exposure to current weather conditions is possible, as the facility keeps its gate open. Expect moderate noise levels, heavy machinery, and a fast-paced operation typical of a manufacturing facility.

    This is a Contract position based out of Newark, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr.
