Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description
As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of aerospace tubular, sheet metal, and casting engine components. You will work on aluminum thickness from .020 to .040 for tube and duct assemblies and certify to AWS D17.1 Aerospace Specification to manual weld aviation hardware from 0.020” to 0.300” thickness in all positions using materials such as stainless steel, Inconel, cobalt, and aluminum alloys.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and layout jobs using blueprints, diagrams, and fixtures following welding procedures for TIG welding in all positions, including the use of rotary turntables for manual welding.
+ Inspect, maintain, and log preventative maintenance on equipment needed for welding and fabricating.
+ Set up machines according to work instructions to trim, size, form, inspect, and GTAW (TIG weld) material to meet fabrication drawing requirements.
+ Review and comply with drawings for final dimensions, weld note callouts, base material, and filler material selection.
+ Prepare weld joints for welding through solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing, and polishing.
+ Perform tack welding and fabricate shop aids and fixtures to assist fabrication and welding.
+ Conduct videoscope inspection for root side weld defects.
+ Perform visual weld inspection using fillet weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and final weld fixtures.
+ Inspect welds for size, face and root reinforcement, cracks, inclusions, and porosity.
+ Engage in Lean Manufacturing practices, general housekeeping, teamwork, and 5S principles.
+ Ensure daily compliance with customer drawings and specifications to maintain aerospace Quality Standards.
+ Comply with internal quality system and regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain qualifications for welding certifications.
+ Clean work area, tools, and equipment at the end of each shift.
+ Follow all business policies and procedures.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to pass TIG welding assessment and become certified on required alloy/joint combinations.
+ Attention to detail and excellent eye/hand coordination skills.
+ Proficient in mathematical and reading skills.
+ Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
+ Near vision of Jaeger #2 at 12” and far vision of 20/30 or better in either eye, with or without corrective lenses.
+ Ability to read, write, and speak English.
+ Legal authorization to work in the US.

+ Ability to plan and schedule workload with minimal supervision according to production schedule.
+ Capability to meet or exceed job requirements.
Work Environment
You will work in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment, potentially exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, and smoke. Safety training and equipment are provided in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and company policy. Occasionally, you may need to lift weights ranging from 25 to 45 pounds.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valencia, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
