    We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Supervisor within our Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) Engineering Group.

     

    This position is responsible for the planning, managing and technical performance of a RAM engineering team. Manage all activities for assigned engineering project(s) including planning and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained. Participates with technical staff, program managers and/or Division/Group executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business and financial objectives for the team. May also contribute to the development of annual and long-term objectives for the Division/Group. Objectives are typically accomplished through subordinate engineering team members.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Lead and direct the work of a team of RAM engineers to support customer requirements for multiple platform-specific contracts.

    + Support RAM analysis of our Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) programs.

    + Participate in and coordinate the establishment of design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, testing, and integration.

    + Interact with internal and external representatives at various levels concerning sharing information and resolution of technical and scheduling issues. Act as primary contact for engineering activities.

    + Plan and schedule work assignments for the team. Monitor project schedules, timelines and deliverables using standard project management tools and engineering systems.

    + Support progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

    + Identify engineering issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specifications.

    + Support the design assurance processes and other related milestones such as PDRs and CDRs via creating presentations and briefing.

    + Anticipate future engineering needs and the modifications required to accomplish a technical goal.

    + Provide expert guidance and consultation to other staff members working on difficult engineering problems.

    + Participate in the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).

    + Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.

    + May participate in the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities.

    + Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

    + Manage the development of and ensure the security of the unit's proprietary technology, and maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

    + Familiarity with the Earned Value process and requirements; to ensure the team is executing within budget and meeting requirements

    Job Qualifications:

    + Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

    + Demonstrates technical expertise in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.

    + Must possess the ability to resolve complex management and technical problems.

    + Experience with development of RAM Program Planning, Reliability and Maintainability Models and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs), Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Reliability Growth Analysis, and RAM requirements.

    + Knowledge including MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-1629A, MIL-HDBK-217F, RIAC-HDBK-217Plus, MIL-HDBK-472, NAVAIR 00-25-403, and other related milestones such as SRRs, PDR’s, CDR’s and TRR’s desirable.

    + Assess reliability performance through system life cycle, provide trend analysis, develop and monitor reliability growth program, and participate in US Government scoring boards as required.

    + Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.

    + Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required.

    + Provide leadership and act as an advisor for determining technical objectives for user requirements and specifications.

    + Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and lead a team of engineers.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance required.
