The Role -
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking aPlating Engineer (Materials)to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.
The successful candidate will evaluate and improve plating technologies and processes in support of connector and component global manufacturing for aerospace, military, and industrial products.
The key responsibilities of thePlating Engineer (Materials)include, but are not limited to:
+ Responsible for updating procedures, processes, and review of drawings relative to industrial standards found in the plating process
+ Troubleshoot and evaluate the material plating, coatings, and processes in support of connector and component manufacturing
+ Project responsibility for two or more simultaneous planned engineering programs related to plating
+ Develop and document processes for new products by working with quality, engineering and manufacturing
+ Support manufacturing in the problem-solving process by analysis of product failure data and laboratory test results to determine causes of problems and develop solutions
+ Serve as a technical contact for external customers, auditors, external laboratories; assist in finding technical solutions meeting customer needs
+ Keep supervision informed of the status of all activities on a periodic basis
Salary:$61,500 - $85,000

The Person –
The key skills and qualities of aPlating Engineer (Materials)at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
+ Bachelor of Science in chemistry, engineering or equivalent experience and education
+ Three years of experience working with plating processing and associated specifications
+ Ability to evaluate, make recommendations, and use analytical results to generate technical reports
+ Ability to produce test samples for testing based on process records or specifications
+ Ability to provide leadership, participate in a team environment, and work independently
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in an organized, methodical, and ethical manner
+ Familiarity with analytical techniques and limitations for X-ray techniques, SEM and optical microscopy, and chemical analysis
+ Strong technical writing skills and versatility with computer programs preferred
+ Prolonged periods of sitting and computer usage
+ Occasional travel
