This is a project-driven,** **seasonal/casual-temporary** **position. With high skills/proficiency in various design software, the Associate CAD Designer creates a variety of complex drawing solutions through the translation of art concepts into complex CAD design drawings, 3d Visualizations and drawing bid packages, as part of a technical production team. Design projects include, but are not limited to, facility applications, show/event venue designs, as well as other designs supporting the creative of live show entertainment product.
Position Responsibilities
Deliver the design intent through the effective execution of the creative process
Support entire design team with mechanical approach and schematic design to realize their vision
Develop and maintain drafting standards for Walt Disney Entertainment in coordination with other Walt Disney Company business units
Generate and modify all types of computer drafting and imaging (ground plans, detail drawings, etc.), graphics and 3D views of Walt Disney World properties using Autodesk Revit.
Familiarity with AutoCAD 2d and 3d, 3ds Max, Solidworks or other 3d modeling/drafting software.
Stay current with computer graphics visualization software and technology to support design and drafting within the industry
Develop and/or provide input to project budgets
Provide conceptual design support to Directors, Producers and Designers
Support the presentation process by developing appropriate visual materials, research of project design materials
Maintain up-to-date show documentation, electronic archiving of Entertainment Design CAD information, files of Walt Disney Company and participant logos and reference art library/art lab
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry working in show development and operation of live shows drafting schematics, floor plans, three-dimensional images
Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Computer Aided Design
Excellent working knowledge of current technology and industry standards for a wide variety of theatrical design (audio, video, broadcast, effects, lighting, and control systems, scenery and facilities construction methodology) as applied to live show and facility systems (theatrical, industrial, concert, touring, etc.)
Excellent understanding of the design development process
Proven ability to generate schematic design documentation in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to support the creative process by collaborating with other Designers, Directors, Writers and Producers
Proven ability to deliver on a project’s established scope, schedule and budget
Excellent verbal and visual communication skills with the ability to express creative ideas and problem solve
Ability to work flexible hours - nights, weekends, holidays - including occasional travel
General computer skills including basic Microsoft Office products and industry specific software
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer animation and video production experience
3 years experience working with Disney Live Entertainment.
Unreal Engine/VR previsualization experience
Required Education
College degree or equivalent experience in Theatrical, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering discipline

Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Theatrical, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering discipline
