    Description

    **Tradesmen International** is immediately hiring experienced **First Class** **Sheet Metal Workers** for projects located in the **Newport News, VA area** . This is a first shift opportunity and the **pay rate is $27.31/hour** based on experience **plus $140/day per diem** for travelers 60+ miles from the job site.     Job Scope:

    + Installation of foundations, ventilation, bulkheads and shipboard furniture

    + Sheet metal fabrication shop work

    + Comprehend complex ventilation, assembly drawings, blueprints & sketches to include weld symbols, material, types, datum and reference lines

    + Layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly

    + Assemble piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner

    + Use small hand tools electric drills grinders rivet guns and shop equipment drill press press break Shears etc

    Requirements

    + 3+ years of experience as a First Class Sheet Metal Worker

    + Ability to read complex ventilation drawings, blueprints, and sketches (including weld -symbols and material types)

    + Proficient with fractional and decimal dimensions

    + Skilled in fabricating and assembling parts according to specifications

    + Experience in physically demanding environments

    + Knowledge of OSHA regulations for shipbuilding

    + Experience using hand tools, electric drills, grinders, rivet guns, and shop equipment (drillpress, press brake, shears, etc.)
