A well-established manufacturer of heavy equipment is seeking a **Purchasing Manager** to drive purchasing strategy, lead a skilled team, and build a best-in-class supplier network at our **Chattanooga, TN facility** .

    What You’ll Do:

    + Oversee all procurement activities for direct and indirect materials supporting manufacturing operations

    + Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 9 purchasing professionals

    + Build and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost, delivery, and quality

    + Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and long-term agreements with key suppliers

    + Maintain accurate inventory levels by partnering with inventory control and production

    + Ensure high performance and compliance standards across all supplier relationships

    + Utilize ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred) to manage orders and track KPIs

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Sales, and Parts

    + Identify cost savings and lead continuous improvement initiatives within procurement

    + Enforce all purchasing practices in accordance with corporate policies and industry regulations

    What We’re Looking For:

    + **12+ years** of progressive purchasing/procurement experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment

    + Strong understanding of sourcing mechanical and electrical components and commodities

    + Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle a plus), Microsoft Excel, and procurement reporting

    + Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and BOMs

    + Proven leadership experience managing purchasing teams

    + Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred

    + Certifications like **CPSM** , **CPM** , or **Lean Six Sigma** are a strong plus
