POSITION: CONTROLLER (DIVISIONAL)

We are seeking a talented Controller to join our impressive Client, a high performing division of a growing publicly held company, specializing in Construction. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead an accounting team while collaborating closely with senior management and operational leaders. The ideal candidate will excel at integrating finance with operations, driving analytical decision-making, and identifying opportunities to enhance profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accurate and timely month-end close procedures and financial reporting processes.

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation and backup.

• Lead initiatives to improve both operational and financial performance across the organization.

• Collaborate with operational teams to develop financial analyses, budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.

• Supervise and mentor the accounting staff, fostering strong working relationships with business managers.

• Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

• Conduct reviews and analyses of profit and loss accounts to support month-end processes and evaluate costs.

• Work on ad hoc projects as assigned, supporting leadership in decision-making and performance improvement.

The right candidate for this role will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in addition to 7+ years of related experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Experience in the construction, manufacturing or related industry is required in addition to public company experience. CPA credentials or progress towards a CPA license is preferred.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in financial management and accounting including time spent in the Construction, Manufacturing or related industries

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience

• Proficiency in ERP software systems and advanced MS Excel skills.

• Strong experience leading the month/quarter/year end close process and financial statement preparation.

• Proven experience in cash management and oversite of CAPEX.

• Strong expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, and budget processes.

• Solid understanding of internal controls, including SOX.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams while fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills to drive business performance.

• Familiarity with reporting tools such as Hyperion and other financial software solutions.
