Are you an accounting professional with exposure to the manufacturing industry and a passion for learning and growing in your career? Cost Accounting experience is not required, but manufacturing industry exposure and a desire to learn and grow in costing is! We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team. This Cost Accountant role offers an exciting opportunity to build expertise in cost accounting while leveraging your existing experience in inventory management, cycle counts, and manufacturing operations.

About the Role

As a Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting our finance team by applying your knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory management. While direct cost accounting experience is not required, the ideal candidate will bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a strong foundation in general accounting practices. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to gain exposure to costing and inventory processes, while helping improve reporting and data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and tracking inventory activity.

+ Support the preparation and analysis of inventory-related financial reports.

+ Collaborate with operations staff to improve inventory accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvements.

+ Provide general accounting support, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

+ Learn and assist with cost accounting processes, including product costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation.

+ Partner with team members across manufacturing and finance to understand business processes and develop insights for decision-making.

+ Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies for inventory and related transactions.

Requirements

+ A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (or equivalent education/experience).

+ 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to manufacturing or similar industries.

+ Familiarity with inventory management processes, such as cycle counts, reconciliations, and reporting.

+ Proficiency in standard accounting software and tools (experience with ERP systems is a plus).

+ Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with operations and finance teams.

+ An interest in learning cost accounting principles and applying them in a manufacturing environment.
