BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: Our industrial distribution company needs an IT Business Analyst to join our growing team. We are looking for a professional with experience in both information technology and supply chain. The successful applicant will serve as the liaison between IT teams, analyze data to drive a solution, and participate in the implementation of software programs. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and highly innovative. He or she will be responsible for translating business needs to IT solutions, and vice versa, with current programs, projects and initiatives in mind.
Our ideal candidate can work on multiple projects simultaneously. We need someone who can take charge of a project and deliver results.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Application Development, the IT Business Analyst analyzes business processes and existing systems to design or modify processes to improve efficiency and achieve expected results.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Analyze the needs of the business users and document the business process. Elicit the system business requirements and serve as a basis for system specifications.
+ Requirements Planning and Management - Determine and document business requirements, model business process flows. Support system test plans, user training plans, creating user guides, and providing post-implementation support.
+ Implement a comprehensive plan for each project and hold regular stakeholder meetings of project progress.
+ Provide accurate timeline estimates for proposed solutions and takes ownership of those estimates.
+ Facilitate interaction between the user community and various IT teams - Create direct channels of communication to software developers that get the job done.
+ Provides on-going support of existing applications including troubleshooting reported problems, documenting and providing a resolution
+ Follows all defined standards as requirements such as change control, naming standards and documentation.
+ Supports and enhances existing applications, as well as developing new ones
+ Employs competencies of the business analysis area of knowledge.
+ Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
+ Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s degree, in Applied Science or Business Area
+ Minimum of six months IT system, business analysis or project management experience is required.
SKILLS:
+ Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving
+ Verbal Communications and Presence
+ Written Communications and Documentation
+ Keen understanding of applications and technology
+ Business Knowledge, supply chain preferred.
+ Required: MS Office 365 suite, or similar.
+ Preferred: MS SharePoint, and HPLAM, Service Now
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
+ A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required.
+ This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).
