Job Title: Driver

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated driver to join our team during the busy peak season, with the potential for a permanent position after the contract period. The primary role involves the delivery, installation, and pickup of portable air conditioning units. You will be responsible for driving a 14" or 16" box truck and responding to client calls for installations or pickups.

Responsibilities

+ Drive a 14" or 16" box truck to deliver, install, and pick up portable air conditioning units.

+ Respond to client calls for pickup or installation of AC units.

+ Drive around areas including Easy Bay, Monterey, Sacramento, and Stockton.

+ Learn and implement the installation process by running portable duct work into ceilings and turning on the AC units at client sites.

+ Utilize basic hand tools for installation and maintenance.

+ Maintain flexibility with schedule, including availability for on-call duties during busy seasons, and potentially working on Saturdays and Sundays.

Essential Skills

+ At least one year of experience driving bobtail or box trucks.

+ Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and flexibility.

+ Clean DMV record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ HVAC experience is a significant advantage.

+ Experience in equipment rental is beneficial, with companies like Herc Rentals or United Rentals.

+ Previous experience as a driver for UPS, DHL, or FedEx is highly desirable.

Work Environment

The work environment involves spending approximately 80% of the day on the road, independently managing deliveries and installations. The remaining 15% will be spent in the warehouse, where responsibilities include cleaning the truck, organizing the warehouse, documenting inventory, and ensuring the truck is stocked with necessary installation items.

This is a Contract position based out of San Leandro, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
