About DTMB:
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) (https://youtu.be/H\_IrVnVjcoA) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the position:
This position provides engineering support for the MPSCS and assists the Engineering Manager, at the entry level to advanced level, in the planning and maintenance of the radio system. This person will use engineering skills to develop studies and tests, analyze data and produce reports to assist in quantifying the health of the radio system and related networks. This position may require familiarity with alarm and control systems, networking, trunked radio technology, RF test equipment, hardware/software configurations and upgrades, antennas, RF propagation, link and coverage analysis, voice and data standards, digital transport technology, network security, traffic analysis, LANs/WANs, fiber optics, knowledge of FCC Parts 90 and 101 rules and regulations and the FCC licensing process.
This employee carries out a range of professional engineer assignments. This person will work with network administration and design for a multi-site trunked radio system including, but not limited to, analysis of radio network security and standards, troubleshooting radio network and data problems, assisting with organizing and tracking of network configuration, provisioning of the radio system and equipment and coordinating with field personnel, and assistance in research and development of network systems and equipment. Employee will also participate in other radio system engineering functions.

Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand 13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
Bonus Programs:Eligible employees with five years of service also receive annual longevity bonuses that grow as seniority increases. Some positions also may qualify for recruitment, retention, and performance bonuses or other special pay premiums.
Military Pay Differential:Employees in the guard or reserves may also qualify for supplemental pay benefits if miliary pay during qualifying duty is less than normal state pay.
