Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Water Team Leader to join our Water Team in Columbus, Ohio. The Water Team Leader will be part of a purpose-driven organization that’s focused on helping our clients, colleagues and communities thrive. Reporting to the Operations Leader, this position will serve as the point of contact for Stantec’s Water business in the Columbus market. You’ll oversee and manage multiple projects with opportunities to collaborate throughout the Region and Nationally. You’ll develop and manage the marketing and business development plan for the Water business in Columbus.

Stantec’s Water and Wastewater team is at the forefront of the water industry, delivering thousands of projects for hundreds of communities globally. Our local water infrastructure projects include large and small projects for public and private sector clients. With a purpose to conceive and develop the most impactful water projects that improve the health, quality of life, and sustainability of the communities we live in and serve, Stantec’s Water team designs fit for purpose solutions to all facets of the water infrastructure life cycle.

Your Key Responsibilities

+ Work with a team to lead large projects of high complexity and provide leadership for civil-related projects

+ Develop project scope, budget, and design approach for projects of all sizes

+ Write proposals, participate in client interviews, and support negotiations for project contracts

+ Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on own projects and the projects of peers

+ Increase visibility of Stantec by sharing your knowledge through key client engagements

+ Mentor a team of water professionals

+ Energize and inspire others to strive for excellence and commit to common goals and purpose

+ Implement and reinforce Stantec’s policies and practices, including Health & Safety, Project Management, and Marketing and Business Development

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

+ Business and operations acumen

+ Prior leadership experience will be considered an asset

+ Technical expertise in relevant areas of design and understanding of various design and construction methods

+ Ability to lead and collaborate in team settings

+ Advanced understanding of civil engineering concepts and can comfortably communicate ideas to non-technical peers

+ Ability to work collaboratively, foster teamwork, and build and nurture lasting relationships with corporate organizations, key business partners, our clients, and our employees

Education and Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent

+ Minimum of 12 years of related experience

+ Licensed Ohio Professional Engineer (PE)

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
