About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary:
As the **Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Manager** , you will be responsible for providing leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a small to medium facility.
What You Will Do:
+ Identify common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establish guidelines for protection from those hazards. As a manager, you will lead risk assessments and hazard identification processes, ensuring robust safety protocols are in place.
+ Write and review current and future required permits related to Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), wastewater, Title V air permits, and other EPA and state-mandated permits. You will oversee permit management, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective environmental permitting. This includes coordinating with relevant authorities to secure necessary approvals and renewals.
+ Ensure EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives. You will design and implement training programs, ensuring compliance training is thorough and promoting ongoing EHS education.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures. You will focus on driving environmental sustainability initiatives and best practices, leading program development and policy implementation.
+ Audit safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy related to local conditions. You will conduct compliance audits, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and perform detailed program evaluations.
+ Monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alert line management to problems, and make recommendations for improvement. You will lead performance monitoring, conduct trend analysis, and provide strategic improvement recommendations.

**Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance:** Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
+ Develop and implement vendor assessment criteria to evaluate potential environmental impacts.
+ Conduct comprehensive training for employees on EHS compliance and assess their understanding of policies.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the effective execution of EHS programs.
+ Lead initiatives for pollution control and resource conservation, focusing on minimizing waste, energy, and water usage.
+ Write and review current and future required permits related to Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), wastewater, Title V air permits, and other EPA and state-mandated permits.
+ Oversee the maintenance and compliance of all permits, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with relevant authorities to secure necessary approvals and manage timely renewals.
+ Design, execute, and sustain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures, with a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability initiatives and industry best practices.
Additional Information:
+ This position is primarily based in Seguin, TX, but will require some travel to nearby locations in Schertz, TX and San Antonio, TX and requires a 5-day-a-week schedule in office

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
