Location Description Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry. Responsibilities This position is responsible for loading and unloading pasteurizing tanks with product. This person will remove empty flats from the flat stacker, to keep area around machines being loaded clean and to dump inedible buckets from machines being loaded after the end of shift clean up. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Ensures regulatory Compliance JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To haul out racks and stack, tie, and pick up all material neatly in proper amounts and heights. To follow all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures To follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) “washing hands, etc.” throughout the day. To follow all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines Responsible for spray down and cleanup equipment and floor to meet USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) specifications Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Less than high school education. Prior manufacturing experience preferred. Willingness to work in cold, wet, and loud environment. Have ability to bend, stoop and reach while lifting carrying stacks of empty flats. Ability to repeatedly lift to 30 lbs. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to do several tasks simultaneously. Have the ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safety regulations and wear the proper PPE for the position. Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
