    Enrollment Registrar Specialist

    POSITION DETAILS

    The Registrar's Office at Queens College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registrar Specialist to support the efficient operation of student registration, records management, and academic services. This position reports to the Enrollment Registrar Manager and is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of academic policies, student records systems, and institutional processes. The Registrar Specialist will work closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure smooth academic operations and compliance with CUNY regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent problem solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality support in a dynamic academic environment.

    In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Registrar Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:

    **•** Degree Audits & Graduation:Supervise and evaluate degree audit unit, notify applicants/departments of deficiencies, and manage graduation procedures and deadlines.

    **•** DegreeWorks Support: Supervise the DegreeWorks team and serve as CUNY’s liaison for DegreeWorks system, troubleshoot issues, maintain test files, conduct training, and assist with proofreading/testing scribed blocks.

    **•** Data Integrity: Supervise the data integrity unit that oversees the record management through grade collection, grade changes, and other end-of-term processes. Manage the processing of ePermits, Pass/No Credit requests, and WN corrections.

    **•** Other Duties: Handle additional tasks as assigned by the Registrar or Associate Registrar.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree and four years’ related experience required.

    PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

    • A demonstrated commitment to providing quality student service in a diverse college is expected.

    • Knowledge and experience using CUNYfirst/PeopleSoft in student record and registration area.

    • Knowledge of FERPA, Freshdesk and MS Office.

    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    Administers College registration operations under management direction.

     

    - Coordinates registration services such as grade collection entries and changes, publication of semester course offerings, final examination schedules, classroom scheduling and requests for student information

     

    - Promotes policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations; advises College personnel regarding the development and implementation of responses to regulatory changes

     

    - Oversees the conformity of record release procedures to management policies and legal requirements, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable laws and regulations governing the confidentiality of student records

     

    - Creates and reviews student communications from the Registrar's Office; ensures transcript and Degree verification requests are handled in a timely manner

     

    - Recommends and implements improvements to office operations; assists with strategic planning

     

    - Prepares reports and analyses on registration activities

     

    - May train faculty and staff on retention techniques, record-keeping protocol and/or registration systems

     

    - May supervise office operations and/or department budget

     

    - Performs related duties as assigned.

    Salary commensurate with education and experience. ($62,411 - $93,134)
