What You’ll Be Doing
As a Group Portfolio Manager, you will maintain strong partnerships with other business functions/units (i.e. Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, Asset Management within Private Wealth, cross-sell partners and loan services).
Attend pre-Screen meetings and hold individual deal screens with Commercial Bankers, Market Managers, Regional Managers, Head of Custom Credit, Chief Operating Officer and/or Group Head to jointly discuss the structure, risk and resources.
In your role you will work closely with team to navigate deals through the credit approval process. Act as resource for team and Commercial Bankers on LP reviews.
You will advise on credit actions related to the existing portfolio (e.g., structure, waivers, modifications). Advise Commercial Bankers and Market Managers on portfolio trends to facilitate consistency in deal structuring.
You will provide guidance to Commercial Bankers and oversee deals from approvals to closing.

You will use your strong relationship building and networking skills to build connections, generate opportunities, and deliver bottom line results. You will leverage CIBC’s wide range of small business solutions to provide a needs-based approach that will result in satisfied, loyal clients and increased referrals.
+ **Client Engagement** – Focus on each client experience and connect on a personal level to make every interaction meaningful. You will deliver trusted advice and financial solutions to meet client needs and cultivate your network to establish new client relationships.
+ **Relationship Management** – You will support existing clients and continuously seek new opportunities for client acquisition through referrals and partner relationships with Banking Centers to deliver current financial products and solutions for the Business Banking market segment.
+ **Community Involvement** – Attend local events and participate in marketing and outreach activities. You will grow your network to create lasting connections that will generate future small business opportunities.

+ **You have** a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Commercial Banking as a Commercial Relationship Manager/Portfolio Manager or equivalent.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $175,000.00 - $230,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
