Minneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community and technical college, is accepting applications for a part-time English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) faculty member to teach for the School of Liberal Arts and Cultures (http://minneapolis.edu/academics/school-liberal-arts-and-cultures) .

Applications for this position will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Teaching part-time college-level courses in ESOL (4-15 credits a semester, depending on enrollment numbers)
+ Delivering instruction in multiple modalities, including on-campus and blended formats.
+ Drawing on knowledge of culturally responsive pedagogy to engage our student body.
+ Participation in the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional materials for ESOL courses.
+ Participation student assessment and assessment of student learning outcomes at the course, department, and college general-education levels.
+ Developing and revising courses and instructional materials.
+ Commitment to providing quality instruction and services to a very diverse student population.
+ Teaching may include daytime, evenings, or Saturdays.
Minimum Qualifications
+ **Education Requirement:** Master's degree with a major in English as a second language or applied linguistics, or with 27 graduate quarter/18 semester credits in ESL which would apply to the major.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Community College Experience – two or more years of teaching experience in an urban setting, community college or combined community and technical college, and/or or similar environment.
+ Technology and Pedagogy – Demonstrated teaching in multiple modalities, including fully online and blended models, and incorporation of multimedia.
+ Demonstrated evidence of a strong and clear understanding and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community colleges and their students, faculty, staff, administrators, and communities they serve.
+ Student-centered – demonstrated contributions to student growth and development through retention measures, student mentoring, and student activities.
+ Experience successfully using learning management systems, such as D2L Brightspace, to support student learning and success

Current and/or former employees must be in good standing at Minneapolis College for consideration.
Salary placement is determined in accordance with the 2023-2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
