    Job Description:

    Highland Hospital is seeking a an experienced Cardiac RN to join our Red Creek Cardiology team. This is a full time, Monday-Friday position.

    General Duties:

    1. Accurately obtain and record patient weight, height, blood pressure, heart rate, and EKG, along with all meaningful use criteria, in the electronic medical record (EMR).

    2. Review and update patients’ current medications in the EMR.

    3. Review and document patients’ allergies in the EMR.

    4. Prepare patients for the cardiologist by gathering medical and surgical history in the EMR.

    5. Escort patients to exam rooms for evaluation by the department’s medical assistant or physician.

    6. Assist in managing patient flow within the department.

    7. Report any concerns or issues directly to the cardiologist.

    8. Perform and complete stress and echocardiogram testing procedures.

    Stress Testing/Echo Testing Duties:

    1. Deliver patient care including initial assessment, setup, and continuous monitoring throughout the stress test procedure.

    2. Ensure accurate anatomical imaging for interpretation by the cardiologist.

    3. Clearly explain testing procedures to patients.

    4. Complete and submit testing templates in the EMR according to protocol for cardiologist review.

    5. Demonstrate proficiency in establishing IV access.

    6. Administer medications via appropriate access routes as required.

    7. Accurately document all data in accordance with established protocols.

    8. Process stress echocardiogram images for evaluation following equipment and test protocols.

    9. Operate all departmental equipment necessary for job performance, including but not limited to stress testing systems, IV monitors, and IV pumps.

    Salary Range:

    $35.35- $45.12 an hour

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

    Job Requirements:

    Licensed by NY State. Current CPR (American BLS for Healthcare providers preferred). ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
