Position Summary

Identify appropriate supplier, determine schedules, create service order documentation, communicate priorities, obtain supplier commitment and coordinate prompt and effective communication between the suppliers and the company.

Responsibilities

+ Review customer deliver requirements, determine the specific sourcing plan, communicate priorities an obtain the required commitment from supplier and ensure effective supplier performance.

+ Utilize preferred suppliers capable of meeting requirements, based on evaluation of quotes and capability to meet the quality, delivery and total cost requirements.

+ Issue subcontract purchase orders ensuring complete, accurate and timely documentation of purchase transaction.

+ Respond to emergency requirements of customers, determine delivery timing and ensure supplier performance meets our needs.

+ Ensure that the supplier receives accurate information regarding piece counts, shipping directions and Lot Number information for proper tracking.

+ Work with suppliers to resolve performance issues.

+ Promote supplier goodwill and sound long-term relations.

+ Make trucking and other transportation arrangements for product to and from our suppliers to ensure timely delivery while utilizing preferred carriers and minimizing total cost.

+ Communicate timely and effectively with outside suppliers and internal (AGT) departments.

Education and Experience

+ HSD/GED or equivalent experience

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to prioritize to meet competing deadlines

+ Excellent computer and data entry skills.

+ Prior scheduling and purchasing experience. Fastener Industry is a plus.

+ 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment. Fastener or Metal Industry a plus.
