    _About The Position_

     

    _The Safety Compliance Specialist will contribute, both individually and as part of a team, to the implementation, maintenance and validation of enterprise-wide and regulatory compliance, initiatives and corresponding requirements with a particular focus on safety. Through leading and participating on teams, this position is also responsible for maintaining data-driven business solutions, including safety-related auditing, data collection and reporting._

    _Key responsibilities include_

    + Assist with maintaining internal and external compliance requirements through involvement in process development, collaboration with internal stakeholders, review of compliance reporting and participation in safety regulatory agency interactions.

    + Review federal and state safety regulations and recommend appropriate methods of compliance for the company.

    + Serve as subject matter expert on safety-related topics and regulatory requirements.

    + Conduct document audits to identify gaps or concerns with regulatory reporting for safety. Follow up on results and drive to a compliant solution by engaging appropriate key stakeholders, e.g. safety professionals, operations, legal, etc.

    + Ensure that management is informed and understands the importance of compliance obligations which affect the Company. Identify potential impact on operations and provide guidance regarding compliance activities including plans and schedules to meet safety compliance requirements.

    + Monitor compliance obligation deadlines to ensure compliance deadlines are met with corresponding evidence of the company's compliance.

    + Focus on compliance process improvement, automation, technology, data analytics, and cross-functional partnerships to drive change and deliver operational excellence.

    + Prepare safety-related reports to support compliance program, external benchmarking initiatives, Ameren Corporate reporting, internal ad-hoc requests, etc.

    + Participate on teams, provide data, and perform trending analysis for continuous improvement, safety program effectiveness reviews, strategy development, internal KPIs, etc.

    + Develop and maintain reports, informational dashboards, and other end-user information and resources including review for data integrity and process for resolution.

    + Assist with the maintenance of safety related data including configuration of current technology or exploration of alternative solutions to support new processes. Participate in safety technology business case development, needs analysis, RFP process, deployment and administration.

    _Qualifications_

    Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University required. Five or more years of combined relevant experience in safety, OSHA reporting/regulatory reporting, or compliance operations required. Knowledge of OSHA regulatory safety standards required. Certification in at least one technical EHS area (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) preferred. Experience in auditing safety performance is preferred.

    In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

    Proficiency in Office 365 with advanced level expertise in Excel required (e.g. pivot tables, complex formulas, graphing, etc.). Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills is required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills including an extraordinary attention to detail. Knowledge of SQL and visualization tools (Power BI) preferred. Ability to learn the operations of compliance technology systems. A robust understanding of regulatory, legal, and compliance investigations, is required and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic.

    Compensation Range:

    $86,400.00 - $133,900.00

     

    At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
